But you may find that you cannot adjust alarm volume and timer volume through touch panel in all Google Home devices (Google Home, Google Home Mini, Google Home Max, Nest Home Mini, and Nest Audio).

You cannot change the volume for alarms and timers with your voice command (Google Assistant) either, as explained in this guide.

Then how to adjust alarm volume and timer volume in Google Home, Google Home Mini, Google Home Max, Google Home Mini 2nd Gen (Nest Home Mini) and Nest Audio?

This Google Home how-to guide shows you how to adjust alarm volume and timer volume in Google Home devices through Google Home app.

This guide applies to all Google Home devices: Google Home, Google Home Mini, Google Nest Mini (Google Home Mini 2nd Gen), Google Home Max, and Nest Audio.

Where are the controls for the alarm volume and timer volume in Google Home, Google Home Mini, Google Home Max, and Nest Audio?

You can control the volume in Google Home through touch panel or voice. For Google Home Mini (including Nest Home Mini), Nest Audio, and Google Home Max, you can similarly adjust the volume with the touch control panel. For example, on Nest Audio, you can use both the touch control panel and voice commands to adjust the Nest Audio volume.

But the volume setting only applies to media and Google Assistant. Alarms and timers will simply ignore such settings.

For alarm volume and timer volume, you can only adjust them in Google Home app.

In addition, alarm volume and timer volume settings are device-specific, NOT account specific.

For example, after adjusting the volume for alarms and timers in one Google Home device, the volume setting for alarm and timer in other devices will NOT be affected.

How to adjust alarm volume and timer volume in Google Home, Google Home Mini, Google Home Max and Nest Audio?

You may follow these steps to adjust alarm volume and timer volume in Google Home, Google Home Mini (including Nest Home Mini), Google Home Max, and Nest Audio.

Step 0: Power on Google Home device

As mentioned, alarm and timer volume settings are device-specific.

So, you need to turn on the Google Home device on which you want to change the alarm and timer volume settings.

You can check any possible issues with the Google Home device based on the LED colours.

Step 1: Start the Google Home app.

You can start Google Hoem app in your phone or tablet.

All Google Home devices connected to the same WiFi router as the phone can be found by the phone.

Step 2: Open device manager

In the Home app, tap the devices icon in the upper right corner, as shown below.

This should open the Device page, as shown below.

Here, you can find all Google Home devices connecting to the same wireless router as your phone.

If you cannot find the device you want to manage, very likely, the device is not connected to the same network. You can then set it up as a new device if you wish.

Step 3: Open device settings

In this guide, we want to adjust alarm volume and timer volume for Bedroom speaker 2.

As shown above, this Google Home device is actually a Google Home Mini.

Tap the menu key (3 vertical dots) in the upper right, as shown above.

Tap Settings in the pop-out menu, as shown below.

Then in the device settings page, tap Alarms & Timers as shown below to change settings for alarms and timers on this Google Home device.

Please note, most of the settings for Google Home devices can be found here, e.g., rename Google Home devices, change WiFi network, enable Bluetooth (or connect Google Home device to a Bluetooth speaker), group with other Google Home speakers (multi-room play), or pair with the other Google Home devices for stereo sound.

Step 4: Adjust alarm  and timer volume

In the current version of Google Home app, you can find all alarms and timers set on this Google Home device.

For example, as shown below, a timer and an alarm were set up on this Google Home Mini.

Under additional settings, you can find the slider to adjust the volume for alarms and timers.

This volume setting applies to all alarms and timers on this device. You cannot customise volume for individual alarms or timers.

You can drag the slider to left or right to adjust the alarm volume and timer volume.

You can also dismiss individual alarm or timer by tapping the X button, as shown below.
