    • Open Contacts app, tap the contact, tap Details. Now, you can find the camera icon above the name (left side). Tap the camera icon, don't tap the camera shutter button. Instead, tap the Gallery app icon (the first one from left below camera area), then select a photo, then crop it as needed, tap Done, tap Save.

To edit the photo, open the contact details, tap Edit in the top row, then tap the photo to replace it.

  • Can anyone tell me how to add my name and landline no. to the lock screen in case an honest person finds my phone. Thanks

  • Sorry to waste your time. I've just worked it out. Settings/Lock screen & security/ Clock & facewidgets/ contact information.

  • Could anyone tell me how to increase volume on phone calls please? It use to be ok but now I have to have it on loud speaker to be able to hear the caller and for the caller to hear me. Many thanks

    • You may try to clean the earpiece/speaker. You may also try to reboot the phone to see whether it helps.

Also, when you are on a call, there is an "Extra volume" button on the phone app. You can tap it to increase the volume.

  • I don't seem to get an iindication when I get a voicemail. I see the missed call, but no icon indicatiing a voice mail has been left. I also see no way of turning that on.

    Please help.

    • Voicemail service is provided by your carrier, and all voicemail messages are also saved on your carrier's servers, not on the phone.

First, you need to check with your carrier whether voicemail service is enabled for your SIM card or not. A few carriers may charge additional fees for voicemail services.

If it is enabled, you can set when to forward calls to voicemail. This can be done through the carrier customer service, or on your phone. On Galaxy S9, open phone app, tap menu key (3 vertical dots near top right), tap more settings, tap call forwarding, tap voice call. You can now set call forwarding when unanswered, and unreachable to voicemail (you need to get the number from your carrier).

In the phone app, tap menu key, tap Settings, tap Voicemail to set it up. Again, you need to get the number from your carrier.

Once it is set up, you can then access voicemail box in the dialer by holding key 1.

  • How do i save photos to the favourites section when in lock screen home screen settings? I can choose 15 photos to rotate on lock screen but j cant see how yo add any photos to the favourites bit. It just always says empty

    • Open the Gallery app, open the photo. At the bottom (above the navigation bar), you can see 4 icons. The first one (heart) is for you to make the photo favourite.

  • I didn't know I could have "rolling" photos. I've added some to my favourites add you said but how do I now get them on to my lock screen? Thank you.

    • When settings up wallpapers, choose from Gallery, you can choose up to 15 photos and videos to be used as wallpapers as a multipack. The photos and videos will be rotated as the wallpaper in the lock screen.

In this case, it is not necessary to mark favourite photos because you can choose one by one. Of course, you can use favourites as a filter in the Gallery when selecting photos.

  • Can someone please tell me how/if I can cast my phone to my TV without my TV being connected to the internet. I can't get my tv to connect to the internet???? & I don't have a roku or chromecast stick

  • always amazed that the 9 white dots in favorites left out to customize, easy mode not, enabled in display. Hopefully i figure it out. table of content of zero favorite customization in search field not available.
