  • Why can't I disable my camera? It's hasn't been working so I want to try to use a different app, but the one that's already on the phone won't let me press "disable," the button itself is whitened out. I tried to force stop beforehand and it didn't change anything, and I changed the permission of the camera to off beforehand too and it also didn't work.
I've done everything I can think of to fix the main problem aside from buying a new camera (which would be pointless because it's obviously a system issue and functioning problem) or just full on factory-resetting the whole thing... Help?

    • The camera app is classified as an essential system app. So, users cannot uninstall it ot disable it. You need to root the phone to disable it.

Factory data reset does NOT solve the issue. After reset, you still cannot remove or disable it.

Anyway, you can just remove the app from the home screen and use any third-party camera app.

  • How can I deinstall or deactivate the sticker function (or sticker bottom)
that was installed with the latest update"

      • Can I remove the bottom that shows up in the camera modus? It does show in the Auto-Modus, not in the pro-modus.
I think this is a silly playing option, not really for a good camera.

        • What are you referring to? In Pro mode, there is actually one more row for Pro mode settings, in addition to the normal buttons.

If you are referring to the row with Settings icon, you cannot remove them. Otherwise, how can you access camera settings?

  • How do you change/add options to the camera quick settings side bar on the S7? I only have three and most pictures/videos I've seen online people have like 5 options and I still can see a small arrow indicating they have even more options.

    • You can take a few photos in auto mode with HDR on, off and auto to see whether they are different.

Also a few camera modes don't support HDR.

  • Has anyone else noticed that accessing the camera by clicking on the camera app pulls up the camera with a different set of options and layout than when you access the camera by pressing on the Camera options while inside the My Gallery app. Im not sure why this happens. It wasnt the case with my s6. Any ideas?

  • Thanks for this! Couple questions: (1) How do I record video (for Udemy) at 30FPS with a Galaxy 7S?, (2) In layman easy terms, what is HDR and how do I want it for recording udemy video courses? Thanks again!

    • By default, it is 30FPS, unless you choose FHD (60FPS).

HDR is similar to overlapping two or more shots (one exposure suitable for bright part; the other for dark part). In preview screen, set HDR as on or Auto, then tap record button to use HDR automatically. Some video sizes do not support HDR, for example, UHD,QHD or FHD 60FPS.

  • Am getting blurred image when i take a slow moving objects using S7 Edge. How to get a sharper image?
i installed sport mode and tried it, still same.

  • I have a new Galaxy S7. I am having trouble connecting to my work wifi. There are two work wifi networks that I am trying to connect to - one is secured and one is unsecured, but my phone will not connect to either. Error message might be "unable to obtain ip address". Sometimes it does not give an error message, but just keeps trying to connect. The phone will connect to a couple of free wifi networks in my nearby town. Because I can connect to other wifi networks does it sound like the problem is with my phone (ie hardware fault, or maybe need to do a factory reset) or is it just that it needs to be setup properly for my work wifi?

I have updated the firmware to the latest version although I was having this problem both before updating and after updating. A helpdesk person said to do a factory reset on the phone, but I don't know if this will help as I was having this problem when the phone was new and before I updated the firmware. Also because the phone will connect to some wifi networks I am wondering if it is just a matter of sorting out specific settings for the work wifi. Any help would be appreciated as I do not know what to do about this as besides the problem with the work wifi the phone runs perfectly.

    • it also depends on WiFi router settings. can you colleagues connect to the WiFi without special settings/registration?

You may check with your IT dept on some special requirements for connecting to the network. Some may require registered mac address, some may require special authentication.

  • when I take a picture in Selfie mode the thumbnail sketch looks fine but the enlarged picture appears in the negative or something like that. How can I correct this?

    • You can turn on/off flipping the picture in camera settings. Start camera, switch to front camera, tap settings icon, turn on/off save as previewed.

  • Hey does anyone have the S7 that also had the S5? Anyone know how to edit videos good, or get the s5 camera features on the s7?
I run a business from my phone and primarily used the x2 speed for recording videos. The S7 slowest fast speed is x4. Its far to fast for what I need it for and its ticking me off. I've had the phone for a month and been researching video editing apps and ways to make this work for me. I havent found anything yet that works.. I'd love help.

    • The stock camera app depends on devices. You can not get all features on s5 in S7.

What exactly do you want to achieve on S7?

  • How to use the rear cam selfie. I can move and resize the target box but nothing appears in the box. It worked once so I know I like it but can't figure out how to duplicate that initial success. Camera doesn't beep as onscreen prompt indicates.

    • Rear cam selfie works when a face is detected in the box. It seems your face is not detected somehow. The problem is that you cannot check it easily. You can test it with someone else.

  • Photo sizes are confusing. I don't know how to set them to get good clear pics for sharing online. They are fuzzy on CBS but beautiful in my gallery. Help. I got this phone because of the camera.

    • the online sharing service provider always compress and scale down your photos. it is beyond your control.

  • My galaxy S4 had a great animated pictur mode. I can't seam to get my new S7 to work quite the same. Could you add a guide for the animated gif function

    • Animated GIF mode is not pre-installed in Galaxy S7. You can download and install it from camera app --Modes --Download.

You may follow this guide on how to download and install additional camera modes.

      • I did install the animated gif app. However it dose not operate the way the S4 did. All i get is a series of photes switched together in a crude gif. The S4 gave you a still picture with elements in motion. Such as a water Fountain moving in a still picture

        • Yes, the animated gif is a step back from the ordinal feature. In S4, you can also take pictures for longer time, then select what you want.

          But anyway, it is gone.

  • Thank you for your response. What I mean is when I take a picture, there is a black band on either side of the picture rather than filing the full screen. My husband had an s6 Edge plus and his photos fill the screen from edge to edge.

    • The default aspect ratio is 4:3 in Galaxy S7, and the screen is 16:9. SO, the photo will not fill the screen fully in preview screen. You can tap the "4:3 12M" button (opposite to the shutter button) to change to "16:9 9.1M". Actually, we already released a guide for setting photo size (and aspect ratio). Please check it here.

Galaxy S6 (including S6 edge, and S6 edge+) camera has a default aspect ratio of 16:9 and therefore you will see the picture occupies the full screen.

The default aspect ratio is linked to the maximum pixels the camera sensor can offer. For S7, if you change the ratio to 16:9, the number of maximum pixels will be 9.1M, not 12M. This is the side effect...

  • I would like to know if there is a way to get full screen photos on the s7 like you can on the s6 Edge Plus.

    • What do you mean "full screen" photos? You can always change the aspect ratio of photos. 16:9 photos should fill scree fully.
