You can use Galaxy S22 Quick Settings to quickly turn on/off specific features without fiddling around the settings page.

Update: in the Android 14 (One UI 6) update for Galaxy S22, S23, and S21, the quick settings panel was greatly improved with a new button layout, smart flight mode, and instant access to the quick settings.
The default settings on Galaxy S22 sometimes cannot meet your demands. You may need to turn on/off some features and change settings for some features on Galaxy S22.
Galaxy S22 Settings are designed for such tasks.
But it is usually not efficient to use Galaxy S22 Settings. For example, if you want to temporarily turn off mobile data on Galaxy S22, you need to go to Settings — Connections — Data usage — Mobile data.
However, with Galaxy S22 Quick Settings, you just need to tap the Mobile Data button. Similarly, you can use the quick setting buttons to quickly enable or disable Protect Battery.
Besides, some features may only be directly accessible from the quick settings. For example, by default, if you want to start the screen recorder, you have to use the quick setting button.
In a nutshell, Galaxy S22 Quick Settings are just a collection of shortcuts to frequently used features so that you don’t have to search through the settings app to find where to enable/disable or tweak the features.
So, like in all other Android phones, the Quick Settings on Galaxy S22 let you use the phone in a more efficient way.
You can access the collapsed Galaxy S22 Quick settings in the notification panel, as shown in the screenshot below.
In the collapsed quick settings panel, you can find the first 6 buttons of the Galaxy S22 Quick Settings.
By default, the brightness control bar, and device control and media output buttons are also shown in the collapsed quick settings panel, as shown in the screenshot above. You can turn them off in the collapsed quick settings panel (read on).
To access the notification panel, you can swipe down from the status bar (or top of the touchscreen).
You can swipe down again from the notification panel to access the expanded (full) quick settings panel.
If you are not in the notification panel, you can access the expanded quick settings panel with any of the following two gestures:
Please note that the methods to access Galaxy S22 Quick Settings are identical regardless of using navigation buttons or using navigation gestures.

We now try to understand the meaning and usage of these entities one by one.
Like in other Android phones, the status bar is shown on the top of the screen. It will not be hidden when you are in the quick settings panel.
But the status bar on the Galaxy S22 Quick Settings panel is different from that on the Galaxy S22 Home screen. There are no notification icons on the left side of the status bar in the expanded quick settings panel. Only status icons are shown on the right side.

The Finder (search) button is not limited to settings or quick settings.
It is actually a universal search button for Galaxy S22. After you type any search phrase, Galaxy S22 will search the whole phone, including Galaxy S22 Settings, Apps, documents, and files on the phone.
Galaxy S22 does not have a dedicated power button. The function of the traditional power button was incorporated into the Side key.
Because you can customize the Side key and remove the power off function from the Side key, an alternative way to access the power off function is added through this button in the Galaxy S22 Quick Settings.
This Power-off button brings you to the power-off menu, where you can power off Galaxy S22, restart the phone (including restart in safe mode), enter emergency mode, or enable lockdown mode.
The Settings button is a shortcut to Galaxy S22 Settings. You can tap the button to open Galaxy S22 Settings quickly.
The standard menu button lets you access more options for the quick settings (for example, customize the layout of the Galaxy S22 quick settings, read on).
The clock in the Galaxy S22 Quick Settings panel does not follow your customization for the clock on the lock screen.
You can quickly control other smart devices configured in SamrtThings or the Google Home app (e.g., Chromecast dongles and Nest speakers).
The Media output button opens the media panel (where you can control the playback of audio and videos).
If your Galaxy S22 is connected to a speaker or earbuds (e.g., Galaxy Buds), you can switch the output devices for the media playback.
If you own a dual-SIM version of Galaxy S22, the preferred (default) SIM card for calls, SMS, and mobile data can be displayed here.

The quick settings buttons are the core part of the Galaxy S22 Quick Settings.
Normally, you can tap on the individual quick setting buttons to turn the corresponding feature on (or off).
You can also access the detailed settings of the corresponding features if you tap and hold the button. (Read on)
On Galaxy S22 Quick Settings, there are only two (or three, if you hide the multi-SIM info) rows of buttons. So you need to swipe left and right to access the quick setting buttons on different panels.
As mentioned, the quick setting buttons are hosted on multiple panels/pages. The panel indicator tells you which panel you are currently on.
However, unlike the panel indicator on the Galaxy S22 Home screen, you cannot tap the corresponding dots to navigate. You have to use the swipe gesture to navigate through the panels.
The brightness control bar lets you adjust the screen brightness conveniently.
There is also a menu button on the right side of the bar. You can use it to turn on/off adaptive brightness, in addition to adjusting the brightness level.
Extra Dim on Galaxy S22 can help you further dim the screen when the brightness is already at the minimum level.
By default, Galaxy S22 still uses the navigation buttons.

Each quick setting button consists of two parts, as shown in the screenshot below.:
The functions of these two parts are different
in Galaxy S22 Quick Settings.In this section, we will use the Sound mode button as an example.
If you tap the icon of the sound mode button, Galaxy S22 will instantly cycle through the 3 different sound modes: Sound — > Vibrate –> Mute –>Sound.
For other quick setting buttons, it may enable/disable the feature (e.g., WiFi) or start the operation (e.g., screen recorder)
Anyway, the tap gesture on the icon will “trigger” the underlying feature.
For most quick setting buttons, there is a corresponding page in the Galaxy S22 Settings. You can access more options for the feature on the Settings page.
If you tap and hold the button (icon or text), it will open this page directly.
For example, for the sound mode button, if you tap and hold it, you will get the following settings page.
Please note that once you are on the corresponding settings page, you will be actually in the Settings app. The Back button (or back gesture) will return one level back in the Settings app, not close the page.
Some quick setting buttons also offer more options. You can tap the text (name) of the button to access these options.
For example, for the sound mode button, you can tap the name (text) to see more options, as shown below.
If you tap the Details button, Galaxy S22 will open the corresponding settings page, as shown earlier.
So, more options offer additional functions/features for the button inside the Galaxy S22 Quick Settings without opening the settings page.
You can customize Galaxy S22 Quick Settings:
You can tap the menu button (5) on the expanded Galaxy S22 Quick Settings panel to access the options, as shown in the screenshot below.
You can tap Edit buttons (A) to customize the quick setting buttons.
Once in the edit mode of the Galaxy S22 Quick Settings panel, as shown in the screenshot below, you can find two sections of the quick setting buttons.
On the top, there are available buttons. These buttons are not added to the quick settings panel by default (e.g., Extra Dim button, Protect Battery, S Pen Remote Mode/Air Actions). The activated quick setting buttons are shown at the bottom part.
You can add any of the available buttons to Galaxy S22 Quick Settings.
For example, you want to add the Live Transcribe button to the quick settings.
So, you can tap and hold the button, as shown below and then drag it to any desired location in the bottom part.
For example, you want to place it after Bixby routines, as shown in the screenshot above.
You can release your finger from the screen once you drag the Live Transcribe button near the desired location.
The circle shown in the screenshot above indicates the snapping location for the button.
After releasing the finger from the screen, the button now is snapped into the desired location, as shown below.
You MUST tap the Done button to apply the change. Otherwise, the button will not be added.
You can remove a quick setting button in a similar way.
Tap and hold the button, then drag it to the Available buttons section in the top part.
You can also drag and drop to relocate (re-order) the quick setting buttons in Galaxy S22 quick settings.
As in the Galaxy S22 notification panel, only the first 6 quick setting buttons are visible, you may try to put the most frequently used quick buttons in the first 6 spots.
Always remember to tap the Done button after relocating or removing quick setting buttons to apply the change.
Some quick settings buttons are associated with developer options. They are called Quick settings developer tiles in Galaxy S22 developer options. These buttons are available only after you enable Galaxy S22 developer options.
You can tap the Quick panel layout (B) in the quick settings menu to customize the Galaxy S22 Quick Settings panel layout.
In the Quick panel layout page, as shown in the screenshot below, you can customize the layout of Galaxy S22 Quick Settings:
You can tap each of these three entries, then select the preferred option to customize Galaxy S22 Quick Settings panel.
Samsung removed the button layout customization for Galaxy S22 Quick Settings.
By default, in the expanded quick settings panel, there are 4 (fixed) buttons in one row.
If you want to show 3, 4 or 5 quick setting buttons in a row, as in some older Galaxy phones (e.g., Galaxy S10), or use other customizations, you can try Samsung’s Good Lock app (QuickStar).

Hello I need help with my S22 Quick Settings. My Quick Settings does not include a "Mobile Data On/Off" (up arrow next to down arrow). It does not have this either in the Quick Settings menu by default or in the additional Quick Settings buttons that can be dragged over into the primary Quick Settings menu.
How do I add the Mobile Data On/Off button to my Quick Settings menu?
I do not want to have to go 3 layers deep in the general Settings to turn my data on/off.

Not sure about this issue with Galaxy S22. In the old Galaxy phones, the button was disabled to cater for the demands of a few carriers. But in Galaxy S22, it is enabled in all regions, as I know.
If you cannot find it in the inactive buttons, you may try to enable it with ADB command in the ADB shell: settings put secure sysui_qs_tiles "$(settings get secure sysui_qs_tiles), MobileData,HotSpot". This requires you to install Samsung's USB driver (it should be installed automatically when you install the SmartSwicth on the PC) and ADB platform tools on the PC. You also need to enable Developer options on the phone.
The phone was decent but the cost of the S22 put a lot of people out of the matrix....GET CHEAPER SAMSUNG!!!
